Tunde O.

Tunde (Tund) is a player with class and bundles of ability. He is one of the fastest players to have played for Aztec and because of his strength and speed we have been forced to use him in a defensive role instead of his more favoured midfield position. Tunde was last years Players player of the year and deserved it with some fine performances at the back for his team. You could not count the amount of times that he has saved his team at a vital moment during a game and last years award was an indication of how highly his team-mates rate him.

One incident that sums up Tunde's ability came during a cup game during the season 1997/98, when Aztec were playing a team from a division above and a win would have put them into the semi-final. As the oppositions forward exposed the Aztec defence with his blistering pace, Tunde was pushed up into the midfield. The striker had a good ten to fifteen yard start on him and was clean through on goal, but Tunde fired up those powerful legs, caught the centre forward and cleanly dispossessed him of the ball. Not bad eh! you might think, but wait, Tunde decided to enjoy himself a bit after this amazing piece of defending and set about to not only take on and beat the entire opposition line up (yes honestly, on his own) but to calmly slot the ball past the advancing goalkeeper, then going on to receive the adulation of his fellow players (even the opposition manager was applauding).

There you have Tunde, a bit of class with a lot of strength. We would like to call him Baba (after Babayaro of Chelsea) but for the moment we just call him plain old Tund, for some reason preferring to leave the end e off. Definitely a player of the future if he wants it enough.
