Kareem (or Special K as he is known to his friends)
is a very skilful footballer. He is a prolific goalscorer for the club and can
play in either midfield or up front. He can outjump Michael Jordan for a ball
(only kidding Michael) and had a spell at playing Basketball with the London
Leopards. At the end of last season Kareem played at West Ham United with their
youth team. He was playing with older players but still shone in very good
company. He was told that he was being let go by West Ham at the beginning of
this season and as a consequence, his enthusiasm for football started to wain.
Kareem
told his team mates that he would be leaving this season and would either give
up football or try to make a go of it at another club. He did however agree to
stay until the end of the season. During one game this season Kareem was
substitute and Aztec were trailing the game by 2 goals to 0. Kareem was sent on
with the instructions to make himself busy up front and try to unsettle the
opponents with his pace. The result of him coming on was devastating for the
opposition. Within ten minutes Special K had scored twice to bring the game
level and was very unlucky not to win the game for his team, they eventually
drew 2-2. Without doubt this was the most effective substitution of the season.
(Now you know why we call him Special K).
As a result of this game and
his team-mates affection for him, Kareem has decided to stay on at Aztec for
their final season in the Echo league and all of us are (to use a great
footballing clichet) 'over the moon'.
